P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) (feat. Kirsty Rock)

Recorded for Easy Star All-Stars’ 2012 Michael Jackson tribute album Easy Star’s Thrillah, with Kirsty Rock featured on vocals. The album was assembled across multiple studios in Kingston, Brooklyn, Tel Aviv, Brazil, Hawaii, Florida, and the UK under Michael Goldwasser’s production. This was the album’s reggae reinterpretation of Michael Jackson’s “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing),” keeping the original’s pop sheen while folding it into Easy Star’s dub-and-dancehall approach. Its release helped frame Thrillah as a polished, full-album tribute rather than a novelty cover project. The track remains part of Easy Star All-Stars’ long-running cover-album series and one of Kirsty Rock’s signature Easy Star performances. It continues to circulate as a notable example of the band’s genre-reframing approach.
