Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds (feat. Frankie Paul)

Recorded for Easy Star All-Stars’ 2009 Beatles tribute album Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band on Easy Star Records. The track features Frankie Paul on lead vocals, with Michael Goldwasser and Victor Axelrod (Ticklah) as the principal producers and arrangers for the project. The song is part of the group’s third full-length tribute album and helped frame the Beatles’ psychedelic original in a roots-reggae and dub setting. Frankie Paul’s performance gave the album one of its most distinctive guest-vocal turns. It remains one of the best-known cuts from Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band and is remembered for pairing a Beatles classic with one of reggae’s best-known voices. The track continues to circulate as a signature example of the Easy Star All-Stars’ album-length cover concept.
