Fixing a Hole (feat. Max Romeo)

Recorded for Easy Star All-Stars’ Beatles tribute album Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band, released in 2009. The track features Max Romeo and was produced and arranged under Michael Goldwasser’s direction, with the album credited to sessions at AuH2O Studio in Queens, New York. It was one of the album’s most attention-grabbing guest appearances, pairing Max Romeo with a dub-reggae reinterpretation of a Beatles deep cut. The release helped establish the album as a standout in Easy Star’s run of highly detailed tribute projects. The track remains a favored example of Easy Star All-Stars’ collaborative cover-album formula and of Max Romeo’s enduring presence in reggae crossover projects. It continues to be cited alongside the album’s best-known moments in coverage of the record.
