Your Love

Recorded in Kingston, Jamaica for Clement “Coxsone” Dodd’s Studio One operation in the late 1960s, with Larry Marshall and Alvin Leslie performing as Larry & Alvin. The session belongs to the period when Marshall was also working around Studio One as an assistant engineer. The track was one of Larry & Alvin’s Studio One hits and helped define the duo’s place in the label’s late rocksteady and early reggae catalogue. It remained part of the material used to represent Studio One’s melodic, harmony-led sound. The song has endured as a staple of Studio One retrospectives and lovers rock/reggae compilations. It continues to circulate as one of Larry & Alvin’s best-known recordings.
