Recording

Recorded in 2008 during the sessions for Everybody, Come Outside!; the bulk of the album was tracked over a few weeks at Steven Howell’s home studio in Newport, Kentucky. Two tracks were cut at Inner Ear with T.J. Lipple, and the companion single’s B-side, “Sleepover,” was recorded in Cincinnati at Candyland Recording Studio with Cameron Cochran and Mike Montgomery. Released on April 14, 2009 as part of Pomegranates’ sophomore album on Lujo Records, “Corriander” came from a record critics heard as a striking step up in scope and ambition. The album was widely noted for its conceptual, atmosphere-first art-pop approach and its improved songwriting. “Corriander” remains one of the best-known tracks from the band’s Lujo Records era and a representative cut from Everybody, Come Outside! Its continued circulation through the album and the 2009 single kept it tied to the record that defined Pomegranates’ early reputation.
