Superstition (Todd Terje Edit)
Stevie Wonder · 2012Todd Terje’s edit reworks Stevie Wonder’s 1972 master recording of “Superstition,” originally cut at Electric Lady Studios in New York. The original session is credited to Wonder with Malcolm Cecil and Robert Margouleff on the Tonto/Moog-era production team. The track is built on one of Stevie Wonder’s signature recordings, the lead single from Talking Book and a major early-1970s crossover hit. It later became a prized DJ edit in Todd Terje’s orbit and circulated in club and mix culture. The song’s clavinet riff and groove remained a touchstone for later funk, soul, and dance reworks, and the Todd Terje edit kept it active in modern DJ sets. The original recording’s enduring status has been reinforced by repeated chart returns and constant catalog presence.
