He's Misstra Know It All
Stevie Wonder · 1973Recording
Recorded during the 1972–73 Innervisions sessions at the Record Plant in Los Angeles and Mediasound in New York City. Stevie Wonder produced the track himself, with Malcolm Cecil and Robert Margouleff serving as associate producers on the album. As the closing track on Innervisions, it extended Wonder’s run of socially conscious songwriting and was issued as the album’s UK single in 1974. It became a British top 10 hit, peaking at number 10 and reaching the Official Singles Chart for nine weeks. The song remains one of the best-known political statements from Wonder’s classic 1970s period. Its continued visibility comes from its place on Innervisions and its lasting association with the album’s critical reputation.
