Touch Me Take Me

Rita Wright · 1978
Recording

Recorded in 1978 for the Jet single that paired it with “Love Is All You Need.” Steve Royal wrote and produced the track for Rita Wright, using her Syreeta-era alias for the release. Issued as the B-side to the UK Jet single “Love Is All You Need,” the track helped turn the record into a sought-after rare-groove item. Its understated mid-tempo soul arrangement later drew attention from collectors and specialist DJs. The song became a cult favorite in rare-soul circles and has circulated through re-edits, compilation appearances, and later sampling. It remains one of the best-known Rita Wright alias recordings from the late 1970s.
