The Model (English)

Recorded in 1978 at Kling Klang Studio in Düsseldorf for The Man-Machine sessions. The English version was performed by Kraftwerk, with lyrics by Ralf Hütter and Emil Schult and composition by Karl Bartos and Ralf Hütter. It stood out as one of the key songs on The Man-Machine, capturing Kraftwerk’s sleek, minimal pop approach at the end of the 1970s. The track later became a major UK hit when it was issued as the A-side of the “The Model/Computer Love” single. The song became Kraftwerk’s first UK number one and remained one of their best-known recordings. It has stayed central to the group’s reputation and to the history of synth-pop and electronic pop.
