Daniel Hunt and Reuben Wu recorded Ladytron's debut single for approximately £50, with guest vocalist Lisa Eriksson. Simon Rhodes engineered the session at Sparks in August 1998. Released in 1999, the single introduced Ladytron's early line-up and was named Single of the Week by NME. Its minimalist production and Kraftwerk-inspired construction anticipated the electroclash movement that followed. The track became a defining document of Ladytron's earliest period and was later included on their debut album 604. It remains closely associated with the group's emergence from Liverpool's independent electronic scene.
