It's Over

The track appeared on Eddie Holman’s 1977 Salsoul album A Night to Remember, recorded at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia with the Salsoul Orchestra on the sessions. It was produced by Ron Kersey. The song was part of Holman’s brief 1977 return to visibility on Salsoul, when the album’s lush Philadelphia soul production placed him back in the contemporary R&B/disco market. It stood out as an album track on a release that helped reintroduce his voice to late-1970s listeners. The track later became a source for hip-hop and R&B sampling, including Ghostface Killah and Puff Daddy, and it was covered by O'Bryan. Its continuing presence in sample culture has kept it in circulation beyond Holman’s original Salsoul run.
