Love Is You
Carol Williams · 1977Recorded for Carol Williams’s Salsoul album 'Lectric Lady during the 1976 Philadelphia sessions at Sigma Sound Studios, with Vincent Montana, Jr. producing and The Salsoul Orchestra providing the backing. The extended disco mix was associated with Tom Moulton. Issued as the second single from 'Lectric Lady, it became a Salsoul disco classic and reached No. 29 on Billboard’s US dance chart as a double-sided release with “Come Back.” It helped establish Williams as one of the label’s key female voices. The track remained one of Williams’s signature recordings and drew renewed attention after Spiller sampled it on “Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love),” which became an international hit. Its original and extended versions have stayed in circulation through reissues and dance compilations.
