Recording

Funk Fusion Band was the studio alias used by Nick Martinelli and David Todd for Can You Feel It, created and edited from a Keith Benson production. Keith Benson wrote and produced the record, and the Progressive Version was issued on the 1981 WMOT 12-inch single. The single was a Philadelphia-linked club release built from the production and edit culture around WMOT and TEC Enterprises. Its long Progressive Version made it a specialist DJ record rather than a mainstream chart single. Can You Feel It became a collector-favoured boogie and post-disco record. Later reissues paired it with Asphalt Jungle's Freakin' Time, reflecting the recording's relationship to Benson's earlier material.
