It's More Fun To Compute
Joey Negro · 2017Recorded for the 2017 album Produced With Love during Dave Lee’s sessions in his North London studio, Unit 3 in Primrose Hill. The track was issued on his Z Records label as a disco rework of Kraftwerk’s composition. It placed Joey Negro’s dancefloor-oriented disco aesthetic in direct dialogue with one of electronic music’s most recognizable source pieces. On release, it stood out as one of the album’s most overtly referential cuts and as a centerpiece of the Produced With Love concept. The track keeps Kraftwerk’s melody circulating inside modern club culture and shows how Lee folded classic electronic motifs into nu-disco production. It sits within a body of work that later collectors and DJs continued to revisit through album cuts, playlists, and reissues.
