Don't Leave Me This Way (Dim's Re-edit)
Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes · 1975Dimitri From Paris created Dim's Re-edit from Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes' 1975 Philadelphia International recording of Don't Leave Me This Way, featuring Teddy Pendergrass on lead vocal. The original track was recorded for Wake Up Everybody at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia under Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff's production. Dim's Re-edit was released by Legacy Recordings in 2021 as a modern club edit of one of Philadelphia soul's most enduring dance records. It reframed the Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes version for contemporary disco and house DJ circulation. The re-edit extends the song's long club life beyond the original Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes release, Thelma Houston's hit version, and later dance-era revivals. It also reflects Dimitri From Paris's role in preserving and extending classic disco material for new club contexts.
