Dreaming a Dream

Crown Heights Affair recorded Dreaming a Dream at Media Sound Studio in New York for De-Lite Records in 1975. The single was written and produced by Freida Nerangis and Britt Britton for Cabrini Productions Corp. The single became the group's breakthrough record, reaching number 43 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 5 on Billboard's soul chart. It also reached number one on the US disco chart, establishing Crown Heights Affair as one of De-Lite's key dance acts. Dreaming a Dream remains one of Crown Heights Affair's defining records and a staple of mid-1970s club compilations. The disco version and later remixes kept the track in circulation among DJs and collectors.
