Together Forever
Exodus · 1982Recording
Recorded in New York for Charlotte Amalie Records and issued as a 12-inch single in 1982. Errol Mattis produced the session, with Bobby E. Davis and Bob Blank credited on the original release in the record’s club-oriented mix format. The track emerged as a rare early-1980s disco and garage record from a tiny New York label, and it quickly gained a reputation in DJ circles. Its extended dub treatment and a cappella opening made it especially attractive for club play. The song became a heavily sampled and reworked underground classic, feeding later house and dance records. Its vocal and piano figures have kept it in circulation through reissues, DJ sets, and sample-based records.
