Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough
Michael Jackson · 1979Recording
It was recorded in 1979 during the Off the Wall sessions in Los Angeles, with Michael Jackson working with producer Quincy Jones and engineer Bruce Swedien. The track was cut at Allen Zentz Recording as part of Jackson’s move into a solo adult pop and dance sound. Released as the lead single from Off the Wall, it became Michael Jackson’s first solo No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and a defining crossover disco hit. It established him as a major solo star beyond his Motown-era fame. It remains one of Jackson’s signature songs and a benchmark for late-disco pop production. Its bass-driven groove and vocal arrangement have made it a lasting reference point for later dance, R&B, and pop artists.
