Ease on Down the Road

Michael Jackson recorded Ease On Down The Road as a duet with Diana Ross for the 1978 film soundtrack to The Wiz. Quincy Jones produced the soundtrack version, marking one of Jackson's first major studio collaborations with Jones before Off the Wall. Ease On Down The Road was released by MCA in 1978 as a single from The Wiz soundtrack. It reached number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 17 on Billboard's R&B chart, and it earned Ross and Jackson a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. The recording remains the best-known film version of Charlie Smalls's song from The Wiz. Its legacy is tied to Jackson's only feature-film role, his on-record partnership with Diana Ross, and the beginning of his long association with Quincy Jones.
