It Ain't No Big Thing

It was recorded for Donna McGhee’s 1978 album Make It Last Forever, in the New York disco sessions supervised by Greg Carmichael and Patrick Adams. The track was issued on Red Greg Records, with the UK release appearing on Anchor. The song became the album’s standout cut and a favored rare-groove/disco selection. Contemporary and later reissue coverage consistently singles it out as one of the set’s key tracks. It later gained a wider afterlife as a sample source and break classic, and Inner Life recorded a cover that expanded its reach in dance music culture. Reissue writers still treat Donna McGhee’s version as the definitive one.
