Love to Love You Baby
Donna Summer · 1975Donna Summer recorded Love to Love You Baby at Musicland Studios in Munich in May and June 1975. Pete Bellotte produced the recording, with Giorgio Moroder on keyboards and co-writing alongside Summer and Bellotte. Love to Love You Baby became Summer's first major international hit and one of the first disco singles to break through in extended album-side form. It reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 4 on the UK singles chart in 1976. The record became a defining early Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder collaboration and was later named by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame among the songs that shaped rock and roll. Its long-form sensual club structure helped establish the 12-inch and album-length disco single as a mainstream format.
