Recording

"Madamoiselle" was recorded in 1978 at Studio Center in Miami, Florida, for Foxy’s second album, Get Off. The session was produced by Cory Wade, with songwriting by Carl Driggs and Ish Ledesma. It appeared as the third track on Get Off, the 1978 Dash/TK Records album that also produced Foxy’s crossover hit "Get Off." The song helped define the album’s blend of Miami dance-funk and disco. "Madamoiselle" gained lasting afterlife through sampling, including uses by Burial, Metal Fingers, and King Geedorah. Those later records kept the track in circulation beyond Foxy’s original album era.
