Cathedrals
D.C. LaRue · 1976The track was recorded in New York in 1976 for D.C. LaRue's album Ca-The-Drals, with LaRue and Aram Schefrin producing and writing the recording. Schefrin arranged and conducted the session, Edison Youngblood engineered it, and Dennis Ganim served as executive producer. Released on Pyramid Records in 1976, the single became LaRue's breakthrough record and reached number 1 on Billboard's Dance Music/Club Play chart. It also crossed to the Billboard Hot 100, giving LaRue his only U.S. pop-chart entry. The track endured as one of LaRue's signature records and a benchmark of theatrical 1970s club production. Later remixes by Greg Wilson, Maurice Fulton, Jamie 3:26, and Terry Farley and Dave Jarvis kept it active in contemporary dance culture.
