Comfort (a.k.a. Come Live With Me, Angel)
Leon Ware · 1976Recording
Recorded in 1975–1976 at Motown Recording Studios in Hollywood, California, during the Musical Massage sessions. Leon Ware sang and produced the track, with Minnie Riperton featured on vocals. The song was originally cut for Musical Massage, then left as an outtake from Ware’s 1976 Motown/Gordy album release. Its duet feel with Minnie Riperton and its connection to Ware’s Marvin Gaye writing period made it a notable deep cut from his catalog. It later circulated on expanded editions of Musical Massage and stayed in circulation as a well-regarded Leon Ware song among soul fans. Its title links directly to Marvin Gaye’s “Come Live With Me Angel,” reinforcing the song’s afterlife in Ware’s songwriting legacy.
