Sweet Vibrations

Latimore · 1976
Recording

Recorded in Miami at Criteria Studios for Latimore’s 1976 Glades session, with Steve Alaimo producing the project. The track was issued as the B-side of “Somethin’ ’Bout ’Cha” and also appeared on It Ain’t Where You Been... It’s Where You’re Goin’. Released on Glades in 1976, it helped round out one of Latimore’s strongest mid-1970s singles sides and anchored the Miami soul sound associated with his work for the T.K. orbit. Its placement as the companion cut to “Somethin’ ’Bout ’Cha” kept it in circulation with the record’s original release. The song has endured as a recognizable Latimore deep cut and continued to appear on later retrospective releases, including Sweet Vibrations: The Best Of Latimore. It remains part of the core catalog that collectors and reissue programs return to when presenting his Glades-era work.
