Joey Negro · 2000
Recording

Joey Negro released Must Be The Music featuring Taka Boom on Subliminal Records in 1999, followed by a UK Incentive issue in 2000. Dave Lee produced the record, reworking material from his Z Factor track Gotta Keep Pushin with Taka Boom on vocals. Must Be The Music became one of Joey Negro's biggest chart singles, reaching the UK Top 10 in February 2000. Its success carried Dave Lee's disco-rooted club production into a wider commercial house audience. Must Be The Music remains one of the best-known Joey Negro singles and a regular reference point in Dave Lee's catalogue. Later remixes and compilation appearances kept the record active beyond its original club and chart run.
