Calabria

Rune Reilly Kölsch and Johannes Torpe cut the track in Copenhagen as an instrumental house piece, first issued as Rune’s 2003 original version. The record centered on Kölsch’s saxophone-hook arrangement and Torpe’s co-production involvement. The track became a club staple on release and helped establish Rune as a Danish house producer with international reach. In the UK, it appeared on the Official Dance Singles Chart in 2003 and returned briefly in 2004. Calabria became the template for several later reworks, most notably Enur’s hit "Calabria 2007" and Alex Gaudino’s "Destination Calabria." Its riff has since been sampled, remixed, and reused in later dance records, giving it lasting recognition well beyond the original 2003 release.
