Gold for the Price of Silver (acoustic version)

Kings of Convenience · 2000
Recording

The track was recorded for Quiet Is the New Loud with Erlend Øye and Eirik Glambek Bøe during the sessions produced by Ken Nelson. The album was made at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool and Ornkli Studios in Bergen as part of the duo early acoustic recording period. Released on Quiet Is the New Loud in 2001, it became one of the songs that introduced Kings of Convenience beyond Norway through Source and Astralwerks. The track also gained club related visibility through the Röyksopp remix on the Versus remix album. It remains a notable early Kings of Convenience track and a key example of the duo restrained songwriting before Riot on an Empty Street. The song wider reach is tied to its remix history and the early 2000s Bergen music scene around Erlend Øye and Röyksopp.
