Analyse
Thom Yorke · 2006Recorded during the 2004–2005 The Eraser sessions with Nigel Godrich, Thom Yorke’s longtime Radiohead producer. The album was tracked in Radiohead’s Oxfordshire studio, Yorke’s home, and Godrich’s studio at the Hospital Club in London. Released in 2006 as the second single from The Eraser, it extended Yorke’s first solo campaign beyond Radiohead and helped define the album’s austere electronic sound. The song also reached a wider audience through its use over the end credits of Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige. The track remains one of Yorke’s best-known solo-era songs because of its film placement in The Prestige and its continued presence in live and archival performances. It also helped establish The Eraser as a durable template for Yorke’s later solo work with Godrich.
