Cymbal Rush

Thom Yorke · 2006
Recording

Recorded during 2004 and 2005 at Radiohead’s Oxfordshire studio and Nigel Godrich’s studio at the Hospital Club in London. Thom Yorke created the music and vocals, while Godrich produced, arranged, mixed and added instrumentation. The closing track on The Eraser linked Yorke’s laptop-based solo work to the album’s recurring imagery of climate change and catastrophic flooding. It helped establish the record as a distinct project rather than an extension of Radiohead. The song became a regular feature of Yorke’s solo performances and was later played by Atoms for Peace. It remains one of the defining album tracks from his first solo release.
