Beyond the Galaxy
Jimmy Roma · 2000The track was cut for Frank Virtue's Philadelphia-based Virtue label and studio operation, with Frank Virtue producing and George Bussey Jr. arranging. The original 1978 twelve-inch paired it with Popeye (The Sailor Man), and the deadwax credits Nick Martinelli with the disco mix at Virtue Studio. Released in 1978 on Virtue, the record became a specialist club and collector title rather than a national chart hit. Its percussive orchestral arrangement later brought it into the rare-disco canon through Dimitri From Paris's Disco Forever compilation. The track remained visible through reissue culture and rare-disco compilations, including Disco Forever and Under the Influence Volume Three. Its long-form twelve-inch mix made it a continuing DJ record among collectors of underground 1970s dance music.
