Recording

Cloud One recorded Atmosphere Strut in New York during the mid-1970s as a Patrick Adams studio project for P&P Records. Adams produced, arranged, wrote, and performed bass, guitar, keyboards, and vocals, with Richard Taninbaum on drums, Venus Dodson on vocals, and Peter Brown as executive producer. Atmosphere Strut was released on P&P Records in 1976 and became the title track of Cloud One's debut album. Its long synthesizer-led arrangement made it a New York club record associated with the Loft and Paradise Garage. Atmosphere Strut became a touchstone of Patrick Adams's cosmic disco catalogue and later dance reissue culture. Its electronic groove and extended format helped define Cloud One's reputation among disco collectors and DJs.
