Patty Duke
Cloud One · 2000Recording
Cloud One released Patty Duke in 1979 as a two-part instrumental 12-inch on Sound of New York. Peter Brown wrote and produced the record, with Patrick Adams credited as producer on later digital releases and Frank credited as arranger on the original issue. Patty Duke became one of Cloud One's recognized late-1970s singles from the P&P Records network. Its stark instrumental groove connected the group's earlier space-themed productions to the rawer New York disco sound that Peter Brown and Patrick Adams helped define. The track remained a cult P&P and Sound of New York title through later reissues and collector circulation. Its long two-part structure made it a durable DJ record in disco, cosmic, and rare-groove sets.
