Recording

Recorded for Mystikal’s fourth album, Let’s Get Ready, with The Neptunes—Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo—handling the production. It was cut at Master Sound Studios in Virginia Beach and mixed at Right Track Recording in New York. Released as Mystikal’s breakout single in 2000, the track pushed him onto mainstream pop radio and became his biggest commercial success. It peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and established his most recognizable hit. The song became Mystikal’s signature record and one of the defining Neptunes productions of the era. Its hook and title remained widely referenced in club culture and popular media long after release.
