Strange Games & Things
Love Unlimited Orchestra · 1976Recording
Recorded in 1976 for the My Sweet Summer Suite sessions at Whitney Studios in Glendale, California. Barry White produced and arranged the track with Gene Page, and Frank Kejmar handled engineering. It was a deep-cut highlight from My Sweet Summer Suite, the orchestra’s 1976 LP on 20th Century Records. The track later drew attention as a favored source among hip-hop producers and sample hunters. The track became a cult favorite and has been sampled in dozens of later recordings, including by Destiny’s Child, EPMD, and Pete Rock-related releases. Its groove also kept the Love Unlimited Orchestra name active in crate-digger and reissue culture.
