Let the Good Times Roll

Let the Good Times Roll

Little Beaver · 1974
Recording

Recorded for Little Beaver’s Party Down LP in the Miami TK Records orbit, with Little Beaver on guitar and vocals and support from Betty Wright, George Perry, Jaco Pastorius, Robert Ferguson, Latimore, Timmy Thomas, and Willie Clarke. It extended the party-life theme that defined Little Beaver’s best-known work and kept the Party Down album in circulation as a source of post-release singles. The track reflected the smooth, Miami-centered soul sound that made his Cat/TK recordings distinctive. The song has remained a sampling source for later artists, including Drumsound & Bassline Smith, Erykah Badu, and Mica Paris. It is still revisited as one of the more durable cuts from Party Down.
