Recording

Recorded during the sessions for The Milk of Human Kindness, the first Caribou album released after Dan Snaith changed his recording name from Manitoba. Snaith wrote and produced the track, with Noel Summerville mastering the album. Released by The Leaf Label and Domino in 2005, Hello Hammerheads appeared on the critically acclaimed The Milk of Human Kindness. The song was singled out by reviewers for its direct, folk-like vocal approach within the album's broader electronic and psychedelic arrangements. Hello Hammerheads remains a noted album track from Caribou's first release under that name. It documents the transition between Snaith's sample-heavy Manitoba period and the more song-focused Caribou work that followed on Andorra.
