Pussycat Dolls feat. Busta Rhymes · 2005
Recording

CeeLo Green wrote and produced the song in January 2004, and the Pussycat Dolls later rerecorded it with Busta Rhymes for the lead single from PCD in 2005. The release credited CeeLo Green on production, with Ethan Mates, Steve Baughman, Jason Schweitzer, and Rouble Kapoor on the original single mix and engineering team. The track became the Pussycat Dolls’ breakthrough single and signature hit, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one in the UK. Critics largely treated it as a standout that defined the group’s pop-and-R&B crossover sound at release. It remains the Pussycat Dolls’ best-known and best-selling single and a staple of 2000s pop radio. Its hook, image, and crossover success kept it widely recognized as one of the decade’s defining girl-group singles.
