Produced by Lil Jon and Ludacris, with additional production contributions from Lil Jon's crunk-oriented sound design, 'Yeah!' was recorded in Atlanta in 2003 during sessions for Usher's fourth studio album 'Confessions', and features guest verses from Lil Jon and Ludacris alongside Usher's lead vocals. Released in January 2004 on LaFace Records, 'Yeah!' spent twelve consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the best-selling single of 2004 in the United States, marking a landmark crossover moment between crunk production and mainstream pop-R&B that brought Lil Jon's Atlanta sound to its widest audience; the track was celebrated by critics as one of the most irresistible singles of the decade. One of the defining pop records of the 2000s, 'Yeah!' has been cited as a pivotal moment in the mainstreaming of crunk and remains one of the best-charting singles in Billboard Hot 100 history; it has been sampled, covered, and referenced extensively across subsequent decades and is a fixture of 2000s nostalgia culture globally.
