U Remind Me

It was recorded at Tree Sound Studios in Norcross, Georgia, with vocals by Usher and production by Edmund "Eddie Hustle" Clement and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis; John Frye handled recording, with Mark Rains also credited on recording and Pro Tools. Released as the lead American single from 8701, it became Usher’s first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 and helped establish the album’s commercial run. It also won him his first Grammy for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. The song remains one of Usher’s signature early-2000s hits, and it is remembered as the last Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis production to reach No. 1 on the Hot 100.
