Black Cherry

Black Cherry

Goldfrapp · 2003
Recording

The track was recorded for Black Cherry with Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory. The album was written and produced by Goldfrapp in their Bath studio as the duo moved from the cinematic sound of Felt Mountain toward more electronic arrangements. Released on Black Cherry in 2003, it served as the title track of the album that repositioned Goldfrapp as a more direct electronic pop act. The album reached the UK top 20 and became a key step toward the wider success of Supernature. It remains a central song from Goldfrapp transitional second album. The track helped define the darker, sensual sound that shaped the duo mid 2000s identity.
