Recording

Recorded at Monnow Valley in Monmouth, with production credited to Oasis. The single’s release credits also list Jan “Stan” Kybert as engineer, Mark “Spike” Stent as mixer, Ian Cooper as mastering engineer, Liam Gallagher on vocals, Noel Gallagher on electric guitar and background vocals, and Mike Rowe on reed organ. Released on 3 February 2003 as the fourth single from Heathen Chemistry, it was the first Oasis single written by Liam Gallagher. It also marked the band’s first single not written by Noel Gallagher. The song remained one of the defining Liam-penned Oasis tracks and was later included on the band’s retrospective collections Stop the Clocks and Time Flies... 1994–2009. Its continued presence on those compilations kept it central in the group’s catalogue.
