Things Have Changed
Bob Dylan · 2000Recorded in New York in 1999 for the Wonder Boys soundtrack with Bob Dylan's touring band: Charlie Sexton and Larry Campbell on guitars, Tony Garnier on bass, and David Kemper on drums and percussion. Chris Shaw engineered and mixed the recording, with Dylan producing the track. Released by Columbia in 2000, Things Have Changed became Dylan's major standalone soundtrack song of the period. It won both the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, giving Dylan one of the most visible awards moments of his later career. The song became a central piece of Dylan's twenty-first-century repertoire and one of his most frequently performed later recordings. It is widely treated as the start of the live-in-the-studio production approach Dylan developed with Chris Shaw in the following decade.
