The Warning

Recorded in Putney, London during sessions for Hot Chip's second album, with Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard, Owen Clarke, Al Doyle, and Felix Martin. Taylor and Goddard led the recording process, and the album was produced by Hot Chip. Released by EMI in 2006 as the title track of The Warning, the song formed part of the album that brought Hot Chip major critical attention. The album was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and marked the band's move into a larger UK audience. The Warning remains a key album track from Hot Chip's breakthrough period. Its mechanical-threat refrain and multi-part structure made it one of the album's most distinctive statements alongside Over and Over and Boy from School.
