You've Got The Love (Jamie XX Re-Work)
Florence + the Machine · —Recording
Jamie Smith reworked Florence and the Machine's recording of You've Got the Love, combining Florence Welch's vocal with elements performed by the xx. The track was issued alongside the 2009 single release and credited as featuring the xx. The rework connected Florence and the Machine's breakthrough period with the emerging sound of the xx. Its restrained arrangement became a prominent alternative version of the single. The track remains one of Jamie xx's best-known early remixes and a notable collaboration between two influential British acts. It was later included on the expanded edition Between Two Lungs.
