Breathe Life

Recorded during the 2014 and 2015 sessions for Phase at Limbo and Ravenscourt in London and Medley Studios in Copenhagen. Jack Garratt performed the vocals and instruments, programmed the drums, and produced and mixed the recording. Released as a single in 2015, the track became an early showcase for Garratt's multi-instrumental production and dynamic live style. It helped build momentum before he won the BBC Sound of 2016 poll and the BRITs Critics' Choice award. The track remains one of the defining songs from Garratt's debut period and a regular feature of his live performances. Its combination of intimate verses and an expansive chorus established the musical approach heard throughout Phase.
