Scratchy dub

The track was recorded for Kanka’s second album Alert, released in 2006 from his Rouen-based catalogue. Alexis Langlois, the artist behind Kanka, is credited as composer and songwriter on digital releases. Released on Alert, the track appeared during Kanka’s rise as one of the leading French dub producers of the mid-2000s. Contemporary French coverage described the album as a heavy, hypnotic set built around echo-heavy snares and very deep bass. The track remains one of the core cuts from Alert and later received a 12-inch pairing with “Rome” on Dubalistik. It preserves Kanka’s early digital sound before his later Sub.mersion and Dub Communication releases.
