Echo dub

Recorded for Kanka’s 2006 album Alert on Hammerbass, with Brother Culture featured as vocalist and Alexis Langlois credited as performer and writer on the track. The release placed the song in Kanka’s series of collaborations with Brother Culture across the album. The track appeared on Alert, the album that hardened Kanka’s stepper sound and was described by later profiles as a cult release in French and European dub. It also extended Kanka’s partnership with Brother Culture, one of the album’s recurring guest voices. Echo dub endures as a representative cut from Alert, a record that helped establish Kanka as a major French dub-steppa producer. Its Brother Culture feature keeps it tied to one of the most recognizable vocal collaborations in Kanka’s catalog.
