Love Don't Live Here Anymore

Recorded in 1978, mainly at music contractor Gene Bianco's house. Gwen Dickey handled lead vocals, with Norman Whitfield and Paul Buckmaster shaping the arrangement and production. The single became Rose Royce's best-known ballad from Strikes Again and a notable late-1970s soul hit. It was critically praised and gave the group a strong crossover presence beyond R&B. The song endured as one of Rose Royce's signature recordings and was later covered by Madonna, Faith Evans, Billy Idol, Jimmy Nail, and others. Its distinctive production and emotional delivery kept it a staple of classic soul and pop-ballad playlists.
