Recording

Scientist mixed Take the Fight at Channel One in Kingston for the 1982 album Dub Duel, produced by Roy Forbes-Allen. The album’s backing tracks were recorded at Dynamic and Channel One studios. The track closed Scientist’s side of Dub Duel, which presented his mixing alongside a separate side by Crucial Bunny on London’s Hawkeye label. Its parent album was selected by London Museum among ten records illustrating the city’s sound-system history, with particular praise for Scientist’s precise use of echo and delay.
